A small business enthusiast through and through, Alex Austin’s passion for owning a business started at a young age. From lemonade stands to eventually launching their own social media marketing company, Alex has always had a hankering for business. The vision for Boho Hazel Co. came about while they were living and working in Frisco, Colorado at a flower shop. During this time of learning to make beautiful flower arrangements, they also cultivated an interest in woman, family, and queer owned small businesses. Boho Hazel Co. is named after Alex’s grandmother, Hazel, whose love for art has been passed down through the family for generations. Alex’s inspiration comes directly from nature, and their affection for the outdoors really came to life when they first visited Sedona, Arizona. After years of traveling out west and a solo cross-country road trip, Alex became knowledgeable about the environment, national parks, and sustainability, which influences everything they do from packaging to a conscientiously chosen inventory.
